I got a C-, which isn't technically a C but it isn't failing. I'm not sure what this means to Mercer, but I found out this means to UGA that I don't have to retake the Calc class. It isn't in a certain area that dictates a C or higher in my degree requirements.
Andres - any thoughts on if Mercer will rake me over the coals on this? Will they take it if I make a bunch of A's next semester and no C's? I didn't fail, so that is what matters, right?
Obviously, I am still stressed out about this, but never in my life have I ever had a subject that I tried so hard in and yet failed so miserablely at conquering.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. In my opinion, Mercer cares more about who you are, what you stand for, and how hard you're willing to work. A C- doesn't necessarily project a negative light on any of those aspects.
Besides.....it's calculus!!! I think they would feel better knowing that though you may not be very good with derivatives, you can effectively diagnose and treat a disease. In fact, isn't it lame that they make calculus a major requirement? I never saw any engineering people in my cell bio classes, lol.
Lastly, it is irrational to think that a low grade in an irrelevant subject could derail years of work. I say that because well, for most of us making it this far has taken a long time. I think even the committee members would be able to see and understand that.
For the upcoming semester just do your best. Though you can't always win in life, never quitting always pays off in the end.
Relax and enjoy the holidays. Everything will be ok. :)
Your comment just made my night! Thank goodness! I'm still going to call them to double check that I don't need to retake, yes? You think that is a good idea?
